Dave Nellist to speak at city Socialist Party meeting this monday

Former Labour MP and Councillor Dave Nellist will be speaking at the Socialist Party meeting on Monday 28th January.

Dave, who while serving as the Labour MP for Coventry South East (1983-1992) and councillor for Coventry St Michaels only took the average workers' wage instead of the official bloated salary of an MP, will be introducing the discussion on British Perspectives.

In this special pre-conference meeting we will be discussing the general political situation in Britain and how the Socialist Party sees things developing. Particular attention will be given to the areas in which Socialist Party members are involved including the youth and student movement, trade unions and the anti-cuts movement.

As chair of the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition, an anti-cuts electoral coalition the Socialist Party stands as part of, Dave will highlight the opportunities and developments we face when trying to build a new left wing political force to the left of Labour.

Entry is free and all are welcome, and we encourage questions and contributions.

If you need assistance getting to the meeting please don't hesitate to get in touch and we will do all we can to help.
